Ionia Daily Sentinel Standard, 14 Mar 1955

Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Bowers, 78, who died March 12, at Cook’s
Rest Home in Ionia were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 at the Morris funeral home
in Saranac with the Rev. Sidney Rood of Houghton Heights officiating.  

She was born August 3, 1876, in Bowne township, Kent county and had been a
resident of Saranac and vicinity for several years.

Surviving are her husband, Claude; one daughter, Mrs. Beulah Carman of Houghton
Heights; two grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Lydia Heavens of Sarasota, Fla.

Pallbearers were Roy Weber, Homer Thornton, Leslie Sykes, Gerald Adgate, Paul
Kohn and Elmo Baker.  Interment was at Saranac cemetery.
