Ionia Sentinel – 19 November 1964
Rodney Cecil Bowers, 50, of 633 Bayard died unexpectedly Wednesday evening at 
Ionia County memorial hospital shortly after walking into the emergency room.  
He was born November 11, 1914 in Ionia, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bowers, 
attended Ionia schools and lived here all his life. He has been employed the 
past 15 years at Gibson’s in Belding and was a former member of Company H, 
Ionia National Guard.  Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Grace Quick and a 
sister, Mrs. Walter Brown both of Ionia.  Funeral service will be conducted by 
Rev. James Kendall of First Christian church Saturday afternoon at 1 o’clock 
at Myers funeral home.
