The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, June 17, 1929

Rev. Coda Butler conducted the funeral services for Levi Bowers, held at the 
Winchell & Stone undertaking parlors Sunday afternoon, and her daughter, Miss 
Butler, sang several selections.  The interment took place in the Tuttle 
cemetery.  Relatives served as bearers.  Mr. Bowers, a Spanish-American war 
veteran, was next to the last of a family of 21 children to die.  His brother, 
of Chicago, is 96 years of age.
