Daily Sentinel-Standard - Friday, Nov. 25 1966

Word has been received in Ionia of the death of Ned A. Bowker, 57, Thursday 
afternoon at his home, Apartment 10, 2833 North Bristol, Santa Ana, Calif. 
He had been receiving treatment for a heart condition for a number of years.

He had been a resident of Ionia on various occasions and was graduated from 
Ionia high school in 1929 where he was an outstanding athlete in football, 
baseball and basketball. He also played semi-professional baseball.

Following a short time in the gasoline filling station and insurance 
business in ionia he returned to California where he remained until the 
early 1950's. At that time he came back to Ionia with his family and resided 
here until 1957 when they moved back to California.

While in Ionia he was a member of Ionia Country club and its champion for a 
year. 

Surviving are his wife, Marguerite; three sons, Phillip, Ned Jr., and Jack; 
daughter, Ann; stepdaughter, Peggy; three grandchildren; mother, Mrs. George 
Bowker, and a sister, Mrs. Forest Boyd, all of California.

Funeral services will be Monday with burial in Greenwood cemetery at 
Lakeside, Calif.
