Bowler, 70, route 1, Belding, died Sunday in St. Marys hospital in Grand Rapids. Born in Grattan township of Kent county, November 4, 1900, he was a farmer in the Belding area for many years. His parents were Richard and Margaret Bowler. He was a member of St. Patricks church in Parnell, and married the late Lorene Zahm, who preceded him in death in 1950. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Peterson of rural Belding and Mrs. Richard Petersen of Cadillac; one son Richard Bowler of Dayton, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Nellie Andre, Mrs. Marie Byrne, Mrs. Alice Norton, and Margaret Bowler all in Grand Rapids. Also surviving are two brothers, Leo Bowler of Grand Rapids, and Fr. Richard Kilian of Indianapolis and four grandchildren. The body rests in Huffman funeral home in Belding where prayers will be recited at 8 p.m. December 4. Services will be held November 5, at 11 a.m. in St. Patricks church in Parnell, with Fr. Richard Kilian and Fr. Edmund Farrell officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
