She was born Oct. 5, 1925, Grand Rapids, the daughter of Olai and Kathryn Muller Paarish. She graduated from Rockford High School as the salutatorian of the class of 1943. Virginia loved her family and her dog, Teenie. Virginia enjoyed camping, fishing and flying her own plane and ultralight. She married John Bowman on Dec. 22, 1943. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bowman, on Sept. 16, 1993; her parents; three sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by her children, Sharon Shank, Sandy and John Moore, all of Rockford, Thomas and Janet Bowman of Greenville, Daniel and Elaine Bowman of Six Lakes, Fay Cope and special friend Ron of Crystal; 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Zimmer of Grand Rapids and Joyce Callen of Sparta. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Byron Davey officiating. Interment is in Oakfield Township Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
