Bowman, 67, died last Thursday evening at Butterworth Hospital, Grand Rapids, after a short illness. He was born February 15, 1888 in Somerset County, Pa., the son of Daniel and Susan Bowman. He married the former Treecy Moore March 15, 1923, in Ingomar, Montana. Coming to Belding in 1945, they resided at 213 W. May St. They had previously lived many years in Eastern Montana. Mr. Bowman was employed for 10 years at Extruded Metals until his recent retirement. He was affiliated with the Church of the Brethren and was a member of Belding Lodge No. 355, F.&A.M. and Hugo Fales Post, American Legion. In World War I he was a corporal in the 2nd Air Services Mechanics’ Regiment AEF, and was active in the battles of Champagne-Marne and Aisne-Marne. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Jane, three sisters, Mrs. Ivan Lee of Mahaffrey, Pa., Mrs. Edward Norman, Akron, O., and Mrs. Thomas Chalmers, Greensburg, Pa. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Huffman Funeral Home. They were conducted by the Rev. Lester Clough and the Belding Masonic Lodge No. 355, F.&A.M. Burial was in River Ridge cemetery.
