Boyce, age 81, of Lake Odessa, passed away Friday, October 14, 2011. He was born February 10, 1930 in Coleman, the son of Alfred and Gertrude (Ettinger) Boyce. Clayton attended Coleman Schools through the eleventh grade and graduated from Mendon Township School in 1947. Following his graduation Clayton enlisted in the US Air Force and served in the Occupation of Japan and also the Korean Conflict. He was married to Letah Wilcox on October 24, 1952. Mrs. Boyce preceded him in death on January 10, 2009. Clayton was employed at Kenyon’s TV Service in Lake Odessa before joining a partnership with Willard Kenyon and Ben McCaul in 1960. In 1981 he purchased the business with his partner, Ben McCaul , and formed Lake Odessa TV and Appliance. He was a member of the Lakewood Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star, Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post 4461 in Lake Odessa and American Legion. Clayton served on the Lake Odessa Community Chest, Lake Odessa Village Council and Ionia County Economic Alliance. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; step mother, Elsie Boyce; brothers Edward Boyce and Lawrence Boyce; and sister Dorothy Batten. Surviving are his daughters, Susan (Michael) Huffman of Galt, CA, Kathy (Rick) Forman of Clarksville; grandsons, Gregory Forman, Jeffrey Forman and Ryan Huffman; sister, Norma Adams of Mendon; brothers, Dale (Barbara) Boyce of North Bradley, Donald (Janet) Boyce of Three Rivers; stepbrother, David Wolford of Kentwood. Memorial services for Clayton will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Koops Funeral Chapel – Lake Odessa. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Clayton’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Lakewood Education Foundation.
