Letah M. (Wilcox) Boyce, aged 77, of Lake Odessa, was called home on Saturday 
afternoon, Jan. 10, 2009.  Letah was born in Leonidas, Mich. on July 16, 1931 
to Carleton and Florence (Farr) Wilcox.  She graduated from Mendon High School 
and continued her education at Western Michigan University where she earned 
her Bachelor’s degree in education.  Letah was united in marriage to Clayton 
Boyce on Oct. 24, 1951 in Mendon.  Letah and Clayton moved to Lake Odessa in 
the mid 1950’s where she taught in the Lakewood Elementary Schools until her 
retirement in 1991.  She had been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, 
and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.  Letah loved her grandsons, and enjoyed camping 
and mushroom hunting.  She was always looking for the next adventure.

Letah is survived by her husband, Clayton; daughters, Sue (Mike) Huffman of 
Galt, Calif., and Kathy (Rick) Forman of Clarksville; grandsons, Greg Forman, 
Jeff Forman and Ryan Huffman; sister, Lela (Ray) Myers; and all of the loving 
members of the extended Wilcox and Boyce families.  She was preceded in death 
by her parents; and her brother, Duane Wilcox.

Visitation with the family will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at the 
Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.  A memorial service will be held at 11 
a.m. on Wednesday at the Koops Funeral Chapel.  There will also be a time of 
visitation with the family for one hour prior to the service.  The family has 
suggested that memorial contributions may be made to the Lakewood Education 
Foundation.
