Ionia County News-Thurs. Nov. 21, 1940

MRS. FORACE BOYD
After more than three years illness Mrs. Forace Boyd died Tuesday morning, November
19, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Wilder, of Prairie Creek. Had she lived
until November 28, she would have been forty-one years old.

Mildred Teeples, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Teeples, was born November 28,
1899, at Highland, Mich.. Twenty- two years ago on November 16, 1918, she was united in 
marriage with Forace  Boyd of Pontiac. Their early life was spent in Pontiac, later
they moved to Edwardsburg and 1932 came to Ionia Which has been their home for the past 
eight years.

Possessed of pleasing personality, Mrs. Boyd made friends easily and soon became
active in social circles, taking a prominent part in many Ionia activities, particularly
the Woman's branch of the Ionia Country Club which she served as president for two years. She
was also a member of the Ionia Woman's Literary club and other local organizations to each
which her enthusiasm and spirit of cooperation were valued assets.

She is survived by her husband, her daughter, Mrs. Wilder, one granddaughter, Joan 
Wilder, a brother, Ralph Teeples of Webberville; her step-mother Mrs. Herbert
Teeples; half-brothers and sisters, Herbert, George and Bentley Teeples. Shirley and Yola
Teeples, of South Lyons.
 
Rev. A. J. Westmaas will conduct the funeral service which will be from Myers
Funeral Home, E. Main street, at 1:30 Friday afternoon, Nov.2. Burial will be in Balcom
cemetery
