Michael Wayne Boyden, age 60, of Ionia, passed away Sunday, February 13, 2005.

He was born Dec. 7, 1944 in Grand Rapids, the son of Wayne and Marcella 
(Bitler) Boyden.  Mr. Boyden retired from the United States Navy after 27 years 
of service.  Michael enjoyed bowling and NASCAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Glenna Wesley; and mother-in-
law, Kathleen E. Sammachicci.  Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Kathleen; 
sons, Michael Jr. and Stephen (Danielle) Boyden; grandchildren, Melissa and 
Christopher Boyden; brothers, Patrick Boyden of Port Huron and Robert (Joanne) 
Boyden of Allegan; sister, Christine Walkington of Ionia; numerous nieces and 
nephews; and several sisters- and brothers-in-law.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Schrauben-Lehman 
Funeral Home in Ionia by Rev. Martin Culver of First United Methodist Church of 
Ionia.  Interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 
p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
