Ionia Sentinel Standard, 9 Jul 1955

Funeral services were held Friday at 11 a.m. from the Boynton funeral home for
Mrs. Elma Louise Boyle, 79.  She died early Wednesday morning at the home of her
brother, George Humphrey, 118 East Downey street, Alma.  Previous to her death
she had lived five years with her brother at Alma during an extended illness.

Mrs. Boyle was born in Sebewa township, Ionia county, February 17, 1876 the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Humphrey.  She was married to Joseph Whitesides
Boyle who died about 30 years ago.  Previous to going to Alma she resided in
Birmingham for 20 years.  She was a member of the First Methodist church of Ionia.

Besides her brother she is survived by a sister, Mrs. S.K. Shane of Houston, Texas.

The Rev. Heath Goodwin officiated at the Friday services with burial at Highland
Park cemetery.
