Ionia Standard, 21 Jul 1916

The suicide of William H. Boyns, at Grand Rapids, on Wednesday morning, was quite 
as much of a shock to the many Ionia friends as it was to his great number of 
home-town friends.  “Billy” Boyns was peculiarly, and popularly, “a mixer.”  
Especially so in fraternity circles, being widely and well known to Masons and 
Elks throughout the state.  For a time late in the career of the Capital Wagon 
Works here in Ionia, he came to this city as the general manager of the works.
