Ionia Standard, 8 May 1914

Coroner Boynton and Sheriff Taylor were summoned on Sunday to the home of Dave
Curtis, a mile and a half south of Clarksville, by the sudden death of Lysander
Boynton, a man of 70 years of age.  He died about 11:30 and the physician said
that he was subject to heart trouble.  It was therefore concluded that his death
was due to natural causes and no inquest was considered necessary.  He was a man
of peculiar habits, living like a pauper but carrying with him papers and
valuables to the amount of more than $5,000.  One brother, Geo. Boynton, is the
only known relative.

[Transcriber’s Note:  There is a notation on the obituary card that he was
buried in Lakeside Cemetery.]
