Rosaleen Marie Bozung, 87, of Portland passed away Feb. 6, 2006.  She was born
in Ionia County April 4, 1918 the daughter of Bernard and Olivia (Fox) Meyers. 
Mrs. Bozung was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, and was involved with
the Ministry of Caring.  Rosaleen led by example and her devout Catholic faith
was very important to her, as was education, as she participated in many of her
children’s school activities.  She was an avid reader and letter writer, enjoyed
all kinds of needlework, was very generous to several charities and was very
devoted to her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn; daughter, Mary Bozung;
four brothers; two sisters.  Surviving are her children, Jerry (Jan) Bozung of
Portland, Betty Holoway of Lansing, Joseph (Paula) Bozung of Georgia, Margaret
(James) Mays of Lansing, Richard Bozung of Lansing, Laurie Bozung of Lansing,
Christine Bozung of Grand Haven and Patricia Bozung of Lansing; eight
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Germaine (Bill) Shattuck of
Portland and Estell Cusack of Lake Odessa; sisters-in-law, Viola Meyers of
Westphalia, and Virginia Meyers of Portland.  

The Mass of Christian Burial was held Feb. 8 at St. Patrick Catholic Church,
Portland with the Rev. Larry King, Pastor presiding.  Rite of Committal followed
at Portland Cemetery.  Arrangements were handled by the Schrauben-Lehman Funeral
Home, Portland.  Contributions may be made to the Father Flohe Foundation, 140
Church St., Portland.
