Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Fri. Dec. 1, 1978


IONIA- Amalia E. Bozung, 82, of Ionia died Friday morning at the Ionia Manor 
where she had been a patient for the last seven years.

She was born July 7, 1896 in Kent County, the daughter of Peter and Katherine 
Roll Bozung. She attended Coon school after moving to Ionia. Later she moved to 
Detroit where she worked as clerk-typist for trucking companies in the Detroit 
area. After retiring from Associated Truck Lines in 1958, she moved back to 
Ionia and lived with her aunt, Mrs. Elizabeth Schnabel. She was a member of SS 
Peter and Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include her brother Henry Bozung of Hubbardston; two cousins, Eleanor 
Schnabel of Ionia and James Schnabel of Ionia.

Funeral services will be 10 am Monday at SS Peter and Paul Catholic church. 
Father James M. Bozung of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grand Rapids will 
officiate.

Parish rosary will be 8 pm Sunday at the Leddick funeral home with Father Henry 
Dondzila officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery.

Family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 2-4 pm and Sunday from 2-4 and 
7-9 pm to receive friends and relatives.
