He was born in Carson City on March 22, 1948, the son of Edward and Agnes (Schafer) Bradbury. John attended Carson City area schools and then served his country in the United States Army from 1969 to 1971 during the Vietnam War, and he was a long- time member of the Hubbardston American Legion, Post 182. John worked for 33 years and Viatech and seven years at Ventra Corporations as an assembly specialist. He was a very loving and giving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him. John leaves to cherish his memory his beloved friend and life partner of 27 years, Karline Dalrymple of Belding, and her family; two daughters, Julie (Mike) Roger and Sarah both of Greenville; two granddaughters, Angel and Tanea; a grandson, Jayden; and great grandson, Traylen; seven siblings, Patricia (Carl) Zurhorst of Clarksville, Jean (Bill) Sherman of Holt, Frances (Gary) Maybee of Lyons, Theresa (Tony) Green of Bark River, Laura (Ron) Johnston of Greenville, George Bradbury of Hubbardston and Ben (Tammy) Bradbury of Belding; his prior wife, Julie Bradbury of Greenville; and many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, John; and a daughter, Jeanna. Visitation and funeral services will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Verdun Family Funeral Home, 303 S. Bridge St., Belding. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. and the Funeral will take place at 11 a.m. with Deacon Dan Schneider officiating. Graveside services with Military Honors will take place on Wednesday at noon at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Hubbardston. Those considering an expression of sympathy are welcomed to consider a memorial contribution in John’s memory to the Hubbardston American Legion Post.
