Ionia Daily Sentinel Aug.9,1951

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Bradford, 78, a resident of Muskegon for the past eight 
years, died at Muskegon Tuesday afternoon, Aug. 7, after being ill for three 
months.  She had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Hazel B. Howard 
of Muskegon.

She was born Oct. 12, 1872, in Ionia and attended Easton Township schools.  
She married Frank E. Bradford Nov. 12, 1890 and he preceded her in death in 
the fall of 1932.  He had been a grocer in Ionia some years before.  At the 
time of her death she was a member of the Methodist church, the W.S.C.S. Sigma 
Delta chapter, T. B. Sanatorium auxiliary and the Clara Swain circle of the 
Central Methodist church of Muskegon.

Surviving are the daughter, Mrs. Howard; two grandchildren, Mrs. Robert 
Sanborn of Ionia and Sally Anne Howard of Muskegon, two great-grandchildren, 
Frederick and Robert Sanborn, Ionia; and two sisters, Mrs. Myron Kennedy and 
Mrs. Ben Reeves of Orleans.

Following prayer services at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Balbirnie Mortuary in 
Muskegon the body will be brought to Ionia where it will lie in state from 11 
a.m. until 2 p.m. at the First Methodist church, Dr. Howard A. Smith will 
officiate at memorial services at 2 p.m. Friday.  Interment will be in Easton 
Cemetery.
