Belding – David R. Bradford, 59, of Howard City, formerly of Belding, passed
away Thursday, June 12, 1997, at Butterworth Hospital.  He was born June 16,
1937, in Grand Rapids to Cecil and Thelma McConnell Bradford.

He was owner and operator of Bradford’s Real Estate Appraisal Service in Howard
City.  He graduated from Belding High School with the class of 1955.  He was a
veteran of the United States Armed Forces, serving in the United States Navy and
Marine Corps.  He was a member of the Knights of Pythias, Greenville.

He was married Aug. 27, 1955, in Belding, to Jackie Jenkins.  She survives with
their children, Deborah and Steven Lane of Howard City, Daniel and Laura
Bradford of St. Louis, Mo., Jeff and Joanie Bradford of Houston, Texas; seven
grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Una Bradford of Smith
Mountain Lake, Va.

He was preceded in death by his father on Sept. 14, 1987; and his mother on Oct.
29, 1996.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding,
with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating.  Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 9
p.m. at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Alvah N. Belding Library
or the American Heart Association.
