Bradford, 78, Howard City, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 29, 1996, at Hospice of Michigan Care Center. She was born Oct. 15, 1918, in Belding, the daughter of Claude and Kate Rhoades McConnell. She retired from Gibson’s after several years of employment. She was a member of the Gibson Retirement Club. She was married Jan. 23, 1936, in Angola, Ind., to Cecil D. Bradford. He preceded her in death Sept. 14, 1987. She is survived by her children, David and Jackie Bradford of Howard City, Kenneth and Una Bradford of Smith Mountain Lake, Va.; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, John and Charlene McConnell of Belmont; one stepsister and her husband, Delores and Bob Kenny of Belding. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepfather, Ronald Parks. Private family services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gratiot/Montcalm Area Hospice or Hospice of Greater Grand Rapids.
