Bradley, 85, prominent Sebewa township resident and last of the township’s civil war veterans, was buried Monday after funeral services at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Benschoter, where he died Friday. Mr. Bradley was postmaster for years at Sebewa Corners where he conducted a general store. He was widely known through the county. Mr. Bradley served in Company C, 152nd Indiana volunteer infantry during the Civil war. In 1862 he bought a mill in Odessa township moving it to Mecosta and in 1888 bought the building in Sebewa which he occupied for many years. He was postmaster from 1888 to 1892, and from 1896 to 1912 when the Sebewa office was done away with. He was a republican of the old school and always active and prominent in county politics, being one of the Sebewa standbys of the old Gridley club. His daughter, Mrs. Benschoter, is the only surviving member of his family. Members of the I.O.O.F. lodge of which he was an honorary member conducted services and Rev. John H. Stewart, of Portland, officiated. Burial was at Sebewa cemetery.
