He had been in rather poor health for some time on account of a stroke of paralysis, but had been able to get around. He was out the day before his death, but his last sickness was only of an hour’s duration. The funeral was held Saturday at the home, Rev. G. Maxwell officiating. Mrs. Henry Friedly sand several appropriate solos and the remains were taken to Green’s cemetery for interment, a large number of friends accompanying the remains to their last resting place. John Bradley was born Nov. 4, 1842, at Nottinghampshire, England. When 2 years old he emigrated to America with his parents, coming in one of the old sailing vessel and being 11 weeks on the Atlantic. The settled first in Canada, then in Washtenaw county, coming to Orleans in 1846 and settling on this homestead where he has lived the remainder of his life. On July 5, 1867, he was married to Martha Wheeler and four children were born to them, two daughters, Mrs. Eva Moore and Mrs. May Fox have preceded him to the better world. Mrs. Carrie Fales and William Bradley, together with the widow, survive. John Bradley was a man with an unusual amount of good humor and his genial disposition and generous hospitality were unbounded.
