Bradt, 73, route one, Ionia, died unexpectedly Wednesday noon at Almont. A graduate of Kalamazoo college, University of Chicago and University of Michigan, Mr. Bradt taught at Cass Technical high school in Detroit and Wayne University, since it was established, until his retirement. He was employed at Nelson Bake Manufacturing in Detroit several years as a consulting chemist. Mr. Bradt was born in Kalamazoo, March 10, 1887, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George H. Bradt. He was married in 1911 to Florence Mary Babcock of Wyandotte who died in 1919. October 7, 1922 he was married to Mary. S. Andrews and lived at Redford until 1929 when they moved to Almont where they resided until coming to Ionia in 1948. Mr. Bradt was a member of the First Christian church of Ionia. He was a member of Oriental Lodge F&AM in Detroit, Almont Chapter, OES of Alma and various pharmaceutical and educational societies. Surviving are his wife, Mary, and a step-sister, Mrs. H. C. Gollan of Detroit. The body will be at the Stone-Kauffman funeral home in Ionia until Saturday noon. Funeral will be held at the First Christian church Saturday at 2 p.m. with interment at North Plains cemetery.
