Edith Brafford, 76, of Ionia passed away Thursday, May 23, 2002.  She was born 
April 25, 1926 in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of George and Bertha (Beeler) 
Harrell.  She went on to marry Ray Arthur Brafford February 6, 1948 who 
preceded her in death in 1992.

Edith is survived by her children Sammie Massingill of Hastings, Virginia and 
Ray Donilowicz of Texas, Laura and Dale Bowen of New Mexico, Helen and Frank 
Abbott of New Mexico, Stanley Brafford of Ionia and Michael and Shelly Brafford 
of Indiana, sister Margaret Owens of Tennessee, 11 grandchildren and eight 
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by granddaughter Michele Mutchie in 1994, great 
grandson Robert De Busk in 1999 and sister Helen Staley in 2002.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with 
Chaplain John Kirkman officiating.  Interment at Fort Custer National 
Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to 
service at the funeral home.  Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution 
to Heartland Hospice of Grand Rapids.  Envelopes available at the funeral home.
