Hazel R. Brand, 82, of Sheridan, died Sunday, May 5, 1996 at Sheridan Commu8nity
Hospital.  She was born July 22, 1913 in Ionia County, the daughter of Ray and
Rose (Chapman) Bartlett.  She married Harold Brand April 28, 1934 in Evergreen
Township.  She was a member of the Crystal Senior Citizens.

She is survived by daughter Shirley (James) Eastman, of Stanton; three
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; three
step-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; Doris Reed, of Greenville and Rachel
Bartlett, of Belding; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death
by her husband in 1966; parents; one granddaughter; one grandson-in-law; one
great-grandson; one sister; and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lux and Schepp Funeral
Home in Crystal with Rev. Lillian Downing officiating.  Visitation will be from
6 p.m. until the time of the service.  Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
 Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
