LEON FRANK BRANDT, 80
Leon Frank Brandt, 80, of Saranac, passed away Feb. 23, 2021, at home with his 
family. He was born Aug.7,1940 in Lake Odessa, Michigan, the son of Frank and 
Beulah (DeHorn) Brandt.

Leon married Shirley Graham May 14, 1965, in Grand Rapids. She preceded him in 
death June 14, 2000, and together they raised three girls. He worked for Attwood 
in Lowell as a tool and die repairman until retirement in 2002. Leon also had 
his own small engine repair shop from his home until 2019.

Surviving Leon are his daughters; Tammy (Steve) Ball of Ionia, Sally Brandt of 
Saranac and Dianne (Jim) Lowden of Saranac. Granddaughter Ashley Nordberg, 
Great-grandson Raylan Schuff. Brothers; Roy (Jan) Brandt of Belding, Melvin 
(Judy) Brandt of Wyoming and Raymond Bottorff of Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley and grandson Steven Ball 
Jr.

Funeral services for Leon were at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia Tuesday, March 
2, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Becky Poor officiating. Interment Balcom 
Cemetery. Visitation was on Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m at the funeral home. Those 
wishing may make memorial contributions to Saranac Fire Department. Online
