Sentinel-Standard - Wednesday, Sept. 28, 1948

Mrs. Augusta Brandt, 74, of Portland Route 1 died at the Convalescent Home for 
the Aged, 267 East Main street, at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday. She had been a patient 
there since Aug. 18.

She was born in Germany June 6, 1874. She has made her home with her son, 
Frank, since 1925, on a Portland farm. Her husband, George Brandt, died Oct. 
28, 1944.

Survivors are two daughters, Grace Clem of Hastings and Frieda Cory of Grand 
Ledge; five sons, Will of Woodbury, Richard of Portland, Esnse of Lansing and 
Frank of Portland; 23 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a sister and 
two brothers in Germany.

The body was removed to the Pickens funeral home in Lake Odessa.
