Belding Daily Bee, 25 Jul 1903

Daniel Branett, of Ionia, a Mexican war veteran, was found dead in his bed 
yesterday.  He was a hospital nurse during the civil war, and only recently 
received an increase of pension and yesterday $97.20 back pay arrived, but too 
late for him to vouch for.  He was 81 years of age and has no relatives there 
except possibly a brother in Ohio.
