They had attended out of the city and were two miles east of the city when a Hudson six driven by Ernest Miller, of Detroit, attempted to pass and on seeing a car coming towards him he went too close to the car Miss Branson was riding in and tiped them into the ditch. All were bruised up a little but she was unconscious when picked up and never rallied, and at 6 o’clock Thursday morning she passed out, about 15 minutes before the frantic parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Branson reached the hospital. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the home, with Rev. W. Halladay officiating. She was a graduate of the Saranac High school, the Ionia County Normal, and had been a successful teacher four years. This was her second year in Ypsilanti. Besides her parents and brother, Russell and wife, she leaves a host of friends. Neva was one whom every one liked and the funeral was largely attended and the banks of flowers were many and beautiful. She was laid to rest in the Saranac cemetery only a week after her grandfather, Clark Young.
