                            Harold Frederick Bray

Harold Frederick Bray, of DeLand,Fla., passed away Sunday, April 6,2008 at the 
age of 95.

Harold was born on May 25, 1912 in Eatontown, New Jersey to the late Harry Grant 
Bray and the late Ellen Mildred Bray of Long Beach N.J.. 

Harold graduate from Belmont High School in Los Angeles, Calif. in 1931. He 
married Phyllis Forbes in November of 1941. 

Harold was a self-employed business man most of his life. He owned many "Five & 
Dime" stores in Michigan with his last one located in Ionia. He was also 
employed by the Ionia based Mitchell Bentley Corp. After moving to Florida in 
1986, Harold worked for the Social Security Administration office as a financial 
advisor. He was the oldest employee on record at that SSA, before retiring at 
the age of 91. Throughout his 95 years of life, Harold was involved with many 
clubs, community organizations and associations He was a Mason, Demolay, Rotary 
and a volunteer group facilitator at the Michigan reformatory.

Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years Phyllis and four 
grandchildren, Bethany Bray, Daniel Bray, Todd Warble and Jeffery Patrick Bray.

He is survived by his five children, sons Fred Bray of DeLand Fla. Bruce (Kris) 
Bray of Marquette and Donald (Pat) Bray of Greenville and daughters Beverly 
(Don) Warble of Wasilla, Alaska and Sharon (Paul) Jackson of DeBray Fla.
He also leaves 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 2 pm at the First 
Presbyterian Church of Ionia. Interment will be in Balcom Cemetery.
