Brayton of rural Hubbardston passed away Thursday evening, July 7, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Fox. She had been in failing health for the past three years, and confined to her bed since September of 1954. Born in Clinton county, April 7, 1882, she was the daughter of William and Clara Kemp. She taught school in Clinton and Ionia counties. On October 5, 1904 she was united in marriage to Fred Brayton of North Plains township. She spent her entire life in rural Hubbardston. She was a faithful member of the Methodist church, worked diligently for its welfare. She is survived by three children, Mrs. James Fox, Josephine Brayton and William Brayton, seven grandchildren, one brother, E. A. Kemp of Hubbardston. Funeral services were held from the Brayton home Sunday at 3 p.m. with arrangements by the Burns-Gunther funeral home of Carson City. Rev. Harold Homer of Bellevue, former pastor, officiated at the services, with interment at the West Side Cemetery.
