Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 23 Jun 1944

Fred B. Brayton died Monday night at his home west and south of Hubbardston, 
having suffered from heart trouble three years.  He was born and lived his 
entire life on the farm where he died.

He was born Sept. 16, 1881, the only son of Byron and Emogene Brayton.  In 1904 
he was married to Mary E. Kempt, who survives with their three children, Mrs. 
Evangeline Fox, William and Josephine Brayton, and seven grandchildren all of 
North Plains township.

Funeral services were held at the home Thursday and burial was in Westside 
cemetery.
