Portland Review, 14 May 1990

Zachary Amos Brearley, 7, of 9292 Goddard Rd., Portland, died May 2, 1990, from 
injuries sustained in a farm accident.  He was born Oct. 27, 1982, in Hastings, 
the son of Larry and Dawn House Brearley.  He was a first-grade student at Lake 
Odessa West Elementary School and attended West Sebewa Church of Christ.  He 
enjoyed playing football.  

Surviving are his parents, Larry and Dawn Brearley; one brother Nathan; three 
sisters, Janelle, Laura and Lynsey; grandparents Amos and Sarah Brearley, and 
Milton and Marie House of Big Rapids; two great-grandmothers, Mona VanAlstine 
of Big Rapids and Beatrice Cooper of Alto; and aunts, uncles, cousins and 
special friends Richard and Marian Goodemoot of Portland.  

Services were held at Koops Funeral Home in Lake Odessa, the Rev. Keith Whipple 
officiating.  Burial in West Sebewa Cemetery.  Memorials have been established 
for the West Sebewa Church and the Lake Odessa Ambulance Service, in care of 
the funeral home.
