Blanche A. Bredice, 89, of Monroe, formerly of Ionia passed away at 11:45 p.m. 
Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at the SSIHM Health Care Center.

Friends may call from 8:30 a.m. until a Memorial Mass at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 
13, 2013, at the I.H.M. Motherhouse Chapel. Cremation has already taken place. 
Private interment will take place at a later date at Mount Olivet Cemetery in 
Ionia.

Blanche was born Sept. 16, 1924, in Muir, Mich. She was the daughter of Edward 
and Lydia (Henderson) Kirby. She married Charles H. Bredice June 1, 1946; he 
preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1990.

She had been an active member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Ionia. She 
enjoyed volunteering for the church, serving as room aide in their school, and 
cooking for the Sisters.

Blanche was a very talented woman. She was a wonderful seamstress; she could 
refinish furniture, work with ceramics and liked to do crafts. She was a proud 
grandmother. Her humor delighted friends and the staff that cared for her.

She is survived by her two children, Rick (Mary) Bredice of Edina, Minn., and 
Sr. Mary Ann Bredice, IMH of Monroe; a sister, Ruth (Arlene) Witherell of 
Lowell, Mich.; and three grandchildren, Patrick, Kate and Michael.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, and eight 
siblings, Lawrence Kirby, Ethel Shaver, Mable Hunt, Marjorie Shepley, Royal 
Kirby, Ernest Kirby, Josephine Sheldon and Pauline Adair.
