April 14, 2026 Excerpts from Greenville Obituary GERALD "GARY" BREIMAYER Died Thursday April 9, 2026-age 80 of Belding at Green Acres of Ionia, surrounded by his two loving daughters, Born in Belding on May 18,1945 son of Ferdinand & Rena (Andres) Breimayer. Gary spent his entire childhood in Belding, graduating from Belding High School in Class of 1963. Later enlisted the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. Worked at the State of Michigan Department of Corrections for over 21 years, retired on February 1, 2008 as a correction officer. He was involved with Belding's Athletic Boosters program, a way of giving back. He was an avid hunter & fisherman, enjoyed the outdoors. Gary & his twin Jerry enjoyed exercising together, riding their bikes around town & spending so much time together. Survived by his daughters Julie (Johnson) Breimayer & Heidi Breimayer; grandchildren Mariah Johnson, Mitchel Johnson & Amanda Stearns; great- grandchildren, Avery & Kinsley Breimayer; twin brother, Jerald"Jerry" Breimayer, sister-in-law, Nancy Breimayer & many nieces & nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, siblings Joseph "Wayne" Breimayer & Marilyn (Norm) Batzer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 20 at 11a.m. at St.Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation on Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:30p.m.with Rosary beginning at 7p.m. Committal rites at St.Mary's Cemetery immediately following the service.
