Born November 28, 1943 in Centralia, Illinois to Jack and Mary (Cummings) Hagadorn. Kaye grew up in Grayville, Illinois with her brother David. She attended Murray State University in Kentucky where she received her bachelor's degree in physical education. In 1967 Kaye began teaching English,P.E. and coaching at Ionia Public schools. Kaye developed a strongly competitive girls' sports program, giving her the nickname the "Living Legend". Among her coaching achievements were a State Championship in girls track, League Championship in varsity volleyball & League & District championships in varsity basketball. She acquired er CDL license to drive the school bus to get her teams to practice and games. Kaye retired in 2000, but continued to be active refereeing boys & girls basketball, girls volleyball & umpiring girls softball. She was inducted into the Ionia High School Hall of Fame in 2015. Kaye was a devote Christian, enjoyed worshiping, fellowship & serving. Winning several trophies showing her 1968 Dodge Polara in car shows. She enjoyed swimming, boating & watching college basketball, especially the MSU Women's team. Survived by her brother David and his wife Sharon of Lenexa, Kansas & many cousins. Preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia, Monday, January 22. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM with funeral beginning at 1:00 PM. Memorial donations can vbe made to "Ionia Public School" and "Scholarship Fund for K.B." Interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville, Illinois, next to her parents.
