The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Thursday, February 29, 1996
E. Robert Breining, 80, formerly of Muir, died in Grand Rapids on Monday, 
February 26, 1996.  He was born in Trevorton, Pennsylvania on May 25, 1915, 
the son of William and Susan (Zicka) Breining.  He attended Trevorton Public 
Schools, Dickinson Seminary, received a B.S. and M.S. degree from Michigan 
State University and started his Ph.D. degree at Southern California.  He was 
a research chemist and science teacher in many Michigan schools.  He married 
Evan Stoddard, of Muir, in September of 1938.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1980, and one son, Ivan

At his request, cremation has taken placed and a memorial service by the Ionia 
Masonic Lodge #36 P&AM will be held Friday at 8 p.m. at the Hull Memorial 
Chapel in Muir.  There will be no visitation.
