Ionia Sentinel-Standard - Sat. Sept. 29, 2012

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bricker, 102 of Hart and formerly of Ionia, passed away 
Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012. She was born April 27, 1910, in Ionia to Frank and 
Rose (Powell) Grescoviak.

She graduated from Sts. Peter and Paul Academy in 1926 and was employed by the 
State of Michigan as an administrative assistant until her retirement in 1970. 
On Nov. 30, 1940, she married Louis David Bricker in Ionia; her preceded her in 
death in 1986.

Mary was very active in the Democratic Party at the state and local levels and 
was invited to President Harry Truman's inauguration. She was actively involved 
in the Ionia County Memorial Hospital Board, the Sts. Peter and Paul Academy 
Alumni Association, and was a member of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by one daughter, Mary Fran (Jan) Neustifter of Mears; three 
grandchildren, Andy (Marlo) Neustifter of Westfield, Indiana, Melissa (Tommy( 
Edwards of Pittsboro, North Carolina and Evan (Betsy) Neustifter of Grand 
Rapids; and four great-grandchildren, Drew Neustifter, Olivia Neustifter, Henry 
Edwards and Scarlet Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; her son, David 
Bricker, also preceded her in 2005.

The Mass of the Resurrection for Mrs. Bricker will be offered Tuesday, Oct. 2, 
2012, at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory Catholic Church in Hart with Father Thomas 
Bolster celebrating. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in 
Ionia.
