He possessed a wonderful constitution and not until a few hours before breathing his last did he lose consciousness. He had made every arrangement for the final dissolution and the burial service was carried out as he requested. Mr. Bricker was much respected and had many friends in this city and vicinity. He was 67 years old having been born in Ohio in 1830. He located in Boston township with his wife soon after the close of the war where he was in the lumber business for a time and also run a sawmill. In 1870 he came to Otisco and worked a farm and five years later moved to Belding engaging in the mercantile business which he conducted until succeeded by his son, W. F. Bricker. Mr. Bricker was a member of the Masonic fraternity and also the order of Eastern Star, and an honorable, upright man. The funeral service and burial was in accordance with Masonic rites. Hon. L. V. Moulton of Grand Rapids made the address at the Congregational church, Rev. B. V. Child assisting in the service. His remains were laid to rest in the old cemetery by the side of those of his wife who died several years ago. Conrad Bricker and wife, David Bricker and wife of Ft. Wayne, Ind., John Bricker and wife and Nicholas Brew of Swan, Ind., brothers of the late Jerry Bricker were in attendance at the funeral Saturday.
