F. Brickley, which occurred at his farm home in Orange township Sunday evening, the bonds of companionship which have existed since his marriage to Miss Ada Wilson 52 years ago were severed. Mr. Brickley was born in Royalton township, Niagara county, New York, in 1850 and at the age of 16 accompanied his parents to this state, locating in Orange township, which had been his home since. March 1, 1875 he was united in marriage and it is doubtless if a more fitting testimony of esteem was ever presented to a couple on their golden wedding day than was tendered them on March 1, 1925, when the entire LeValley community honored them with ceremonies at the church. He had been in poor health for several years, but his illness took a critical turn several weeks ago and a stroke suffered during the last few days hastened his demise. Another companionship which closed with his death was that of he and his brother Warren. Although the latter was seven years younger than W. F. Brickley, their birthdays came on the same date, February 18, and this date in 1928 will be the first in several decades that the two have not celebrated together. Besides the widow and his brother, Mr. Brickley leaves a daughter, Mrs. Neil Friedly of Boyne City, and a son, Fred, who lives on the farm near the old home, which has been occupied by Mr. and Mrs. Brickley for the past 38 years. He held membership in the LeValley church, and until cut off from activity by illness months ago, he was an ardent worker in its various departments. His pastor, Rev. C. E. Thies, will conduct the service from the home Wednesday at 2 o’clock. Burial will take place in Highland Park cemetery.
