July 10, 1944 Warren Benjamin Brickley, 87, for more than 60 years a resident of Ionia county, died Monday morning at 2 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Benedict, of Orange where he had resided since fall. He had been confined to a wheel chair for the past nine years when he suffered a hip fracture. Mrs. Brickley broke her hip last winter and the couple had resided with their daughter, since. He was born February 18, 1857 in Niagara county, New York, the son of Jacob and Rebecca Zacharias Brickley. He came to Michigan in 1865 and was married on October 7, 1879, at Portland to Miss Marian Harwood. The couple had resided in Orange for four years, later moving to a Berlin township farm where they had lived 60 years. He was a member of the LeValley Methodist church. Surviving is the daughter, Mrs. Floyd Benedict. Another daughter, Mrs. Ethel Williams died in August 1918. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Miss Norma Williams of Hamburg. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of the daughter, Mrs. Floyd Benedict on M-66. Rev. H. Howard Fuller of the LeValley Methodist church will officiate and burial will be in Balcom cemetery. The body will be at the Stone funeral home until Tuesday when it will repose at the Floyd Benedict home.
