Portland Observer, 8 Jun 1904

Margaret J., widow of the late Abraham Briggs, whom many of our readers will 
remember as having been a deaf and dumb shoemaker of this village, and who died 
several years ago, died at her home in the north part of the village of paralysis 
on Friday last, aged 79 years.  She had resided here many years.  Short funeral 
services were conducted from the house by Rev. Buell Tuesday and the remains 
taken to DeWitt for burial.
