Lake Odessa Wave, 4 Jan 1951

William Briggs, 93, who formerly operated a hardware business here for years, 
passed away at a Grand Rapids hospital early Sunday morning.  He was born in 
Findlay, Ohio, March 9, 1857, and left here for Grand Rapids about a year ago.  
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. W. R. Amon and three grand children.  Mr. Briggs 
was brought to the Pickens funeral chapel where funeral services were held 
Tuesday afternoon with burial in Lakeside cemetery.  Rev. A. J. Pitman of the 
Congregational church officiating.
