Mrs. Briggs had made her home with her son for the past year. She had been in poor health for a number of years. Born in Hubbardston, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Holbart Hanks. She was the widow of Charles Briggs and had lived for over 50 years in Belding. Mrs. Briggs had been an employee of the Richardson silk mills. Surviving besides the son, Cecil, is a son, Holbart Briggs of Coldwater, a daughter, Mrs. Elouise Peckham, of Greenville; seven grandchildren; a brother, Lyman Hanks, of Grand Rapids and a sister, Mrs. Bert Luce, of Belding.
