Ionia Weekly Standard - Friday, March 11, 1887

George H. Briggs died at the Kalamazoo insane asylum on Tuesday. Mr. Briggs 
was a civil engineer of more than ordinary ability, and in his insanity a 
peculiarly bright intellect was destroyed. He was, for a time, chief engineer 
of the Ionia and Lansing railroad.
