April 5, 2018 ROBERT EDWIN BRIGHAM, 60 Robert Edwin Brigham, 60, of Ionia, lost his courageous battle with cancer. Bob went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus christ on Easter. Bob was born in Grand Rapids on June 1, 1957, to Elmer Brigham and Sue Kinglsey. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, David Brigham; and nephews Dietrich and Adam. Bob will be deeply missed by his son, Robby (Robert Edwin Brigham Jr.,) and lifelong best friend, Bill Porter Along with his son, he leaves behind his siblings Karen (James) Doty, Paulia Eby, Peggy Brigham, Steve (Ada) Brigham, Randy (Roxanne) Brigham and several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews and a very close and life time devoted friend Kris Nash. Bob worked many jobs during his lifetime, but the most rewarding was his work at Ionia Public school as a Maintenance Custodian. Bob loved the children and teachers, and they loved him. Bob liked to collect vintage toys, restore furniture and drive his "Black Mustang." Bob liked his stuff but save his love for Robby and friends and all he knew. He never took upon any project without seeing it through to completion. His greatest project was raising his son Robby to be a good human being and to love God...Bob was a wonderful Father, he took it very seriously. Bob told his son Robby to Be nice. Be respectful. Be understanding and Love others. Bob was a great friend to many, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He was faithful to, and dearly loved his church, LaValley U. M. C. Bob in now home with his Jesus... (Philippians 1:6) Funeral services for Bob will be noon Thursday April 5, at LeValley United Methodist Church with Pastor Nancy Patera Officiating. Visitation will be at the Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements in care of Lake Funeral Home ,Ionia. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contribution to Bob's family for disbursement as financial needs arise.
