Brimmer, 74, of Belding, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2000, at his home. He was born March 30, 1926, in Belding to Clarence and Alieda Truman Brimmer. Alphie was a veteran of World War II. He loved to fish, hunt, work on small engines and enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. On Aug. 12, 1948, in Grand Rapids, he married Donna Marie Vollwiler. She survives with their children, Mauna and Leonard Dines of Howard City, Clayton Dines of Howard City, Clayton Sr. and Judy Brimmer of Morley; five grandchildren, Kevin, Cassie, Nick, Cristo, Clayton Jr.; nine great-grandchildren; his brothers, Kermit, George, Wayne, John Edward and Gary Lee; and sisters, Florence, Myrtle, Vivian and Carmie. He was preceded in death by his parents; one great-grandchild, Clayton F. Brimmer III; his brothers, Harold, August, Roger and Cecil; and sisters, Lottie, Betty Lou and Doris. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Bert Boes officiating. Interment will be in Otisco Township Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
