Dec. 28, 2013 Belding- Donna May Brimmer, 88, of Belding, died Friday morning, Dec. 27, 2013, at Metron of Greenville Nursing Home. Donna was born on April 21, 1925, in Sheridan, the daughter of Elmer and Rebecca (Getts) Corwin. During Word War 11, Donna assembled the tail sections of gliders that were built locally. She enjoyed camping and fishing and loved to bake cookies, which she gladly took to the Belding Fire Department, Police Department and the many children at Ellis School. Donna attended Shiloh Community Church. She was married on Feb. 16, 1946, in Belding, to Lawrence Brimmer and he preceded Donna in 1984. She was also preceded by her parents; a brother, Olin Corwin; a stepmother, Zillah; a stepmother, Otto Canfield; a stepsister, Doris Heintz; and a daughter, Callie Henley. Donna is loved and survived by her children Dan and Julie Brimmer, and Ron and Mary Brimmer, all of Greenville; Sally and Martin Moser of Stanton; her grandchildren Tammy McAllister, Brenda Brown, Rich (Sue) Ring, Chris Brimmer, Jeff Brimmer, Heidi (Brad) Wright, Travis (Courtine) Brimmer, Jennifer (Jonathon) Chaffer, Matthew Bronkema; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; a son-in-law, Larry Henley of Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral and committal services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will take p lace in the spring in Otisco Township Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Hospice of Michigan or the American Diabetes Foundation.
