Ionia Sentinel Standard, 27 Feb 1933

Miss Anna E. Broad, 49, died at her home in Ferndale February 20.  She leaves
four sisters, Mrs. A.C. Hall, Mrs. C.L. Pelzer, Miss Una Broad, of Detroit; Mrs.
C.C. Miller, Chambersburg, Pa.; two brothers, George and Clare, of Ionia.  She
was the daughter of the late Charles Broad who lived for a time on Rich street.

Miss Broad was graduated from the nurses training school at Grace hospital,
Detroit, in 1907, and in 1916 from the school of anesthesia, Grace hospital. 
She then became associated with the Highland Park general hospital, and for the
past 11 years had been at the Henry Ford hospital.

Rev. Dr. Samuel T. Marquis, rector of the Cranbrook Episcopal church at
Bloomfield Hills, Detroit, officiated at the services.  Bearers were Doctors
Schaet, Eschbach, Noah, Mithell, and Smeltzer, of the Ford hospital staff. 
Interment was in the Polar Bear memorial mausoleum, Detroit.
