The Ionia Standard, Thursday, August 19, 1880

Miss Mary E. Brock, daughter of Benjamin H. and Christina Brock, died, at 4 
o’clock Sunday morning after about ten days’ illness, with bilious 
intermittent fever.  Deceased had been engaged here in the millinery business 
for the past four years, and was highly esteemed by all who knew her.  The 
funeral took place at 4 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, at the M.E. Church, the 
services being conducted by the Rev. W. Gardner.
